Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, you will be met by your local guide holding a name-board in the arrivals area. After a brief introduction, you will be transferred to your hotel for assistance with check-in. This evening, head out with your guide for a visit to the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda. Enjoy a welcome dinner this evening.
This morning, after you hotel breakfast, you will fly to the city of Bagan, where you will be met for transportation to the hotel for a welcome drink and time to freshen up before heading out for your day of sightseeing. The day is spent exploring the town including the colourful Nyaung Oo Local Market & Shwezigon Pagoda, the Wetkyi-in Gubyaukkyi, a cave temple with exquisite jatakas mural paintings; the elegant Htilominlo Temple, noted for its plaster carvings; and Tharaba Gate. In the afternoon, visit Ananda, an architectural masterpiece. See Ananda Okkyaung which is one of the few surviving brick monasteries from the early Bagan period, and Thatbyinnyu, the highest in Bagan rising to 61m as well as the Dhammayangyi Temple. To conclude the day, enjoy the sunset at one of the most famous temples in Bagan.
After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Mount Popa, an extinct volcano, and explore the top of the peculiar mountain where monasteries, pagodas and shrines abound in a variety of different styles. Afterwards, enjoy an excursion to the countryside village of Minnanthu, and then visit some of the most interesting temples in the area, a true highlight of travel in Myanmar. This evening, enjoy a horse cart ride to further experience the nearby villages and interact with the locals. This evening, enjoy dinner with a traditional puppet show.
This morning, fly to Mandalay where you will be met for your city tour. Visit the Mahamuni Pagoda, famous for its venerable statue of Buddha covered with gold leaf, see local artisan workshops (woodcarving, marble masonry, tapestry, and gold leaf), and then visit the Shwe Inn Bin Monastery and a bustling local market.
Enjoy a morning excursion to Amarapura and visit the Mahagandayone Monastery where more than one thousand monks live and study. Then, visit the U Bein Bridge across Taungthaman Lake (the world’s longest teakwood bridge), a most photographed site in the region, and then in the afternoon, visit the Golden Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its exquisite woodcarving, the Atumashi Monastery, and the Kuthodaw Pagoda with its 729 marble stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures, known as the world’s biggest book. This evening, watch the sunset from Mandalay Hill.
This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Heho. On arrival, meet and drive to the beautiful lakeside town of Pindaya. Visit Shwe-Oo-Minn limestone caves with their thousands of Buddha images, and later enjoy your time exploring Pindaya town and Pone-Ta-Lok Lake to see the local ways of living. Afterwards, drive to Kalaw, a hill station located at an elevation of 1320 meters, and check-in to your hotel.
After breakfast, head to Inle lake. On route, stop at Aung Ban to see this important junction town before arriving at Inle Lake where you will check-in to your hotel. Inle Lake is famous for its Inthas (native lake-dwellers) who have a unique way of rowing with their legs, and the serenity of the region mixed with the bustle of local marketplaces. Your tour by private boat includes a chance to see the leg-rowing fishermen, the man-made floating gardens, and life around the lake. Visit a traditional lotus and silk weaving village, and other cottage industries in the area, and then stop at the Nga Hpe Chaung monastery.
This morning visit a floating village at Ywama (the lake’s downtown), and then continue to visit a traditional silversmith village, and the five Buddha images of Phaung Daw Oo Monastery, the holiest in Inle Lake where the Buddha images have been covered in so much gold they look like balls of solid gold. Afterwards, return to your resort for the afternoon at your leisure.
In the morning, travel by boat and road to Heho Airport for your flight to Yangon. Enjoy some time in Yangon for shopping at Bogyok Aung San Market, the city’s busiest and liveliest bazaar, and then continue exploring Yangon as you visit the Botataung Pagoda, China town and the fruit market. This evening, enjoy a farewell dinner.
Depending on flight schedules, this morning visit the Chaukhtatkyi Reclining Buddha and have a photo stop to see the Karaweik Royal Barge on Kandawgyi Royal Lake. Afterwards, transfer to Yangon Airport for your departure flight.
