Explore Laos’ essential sites starting from the sleepy riverside capital of Vientiane as you take a guided city tour before taking the scenic and winding mountain roads through spectacular countryside and traditional rural villages to the small town of Vang Vieng. Surrounded by steep karst mountain scenery, and nestled along the bend of the Nam Song River, Vang Vieng is a picturesque small town with a dramatic backdrop. Take some time to relax, visit the limestone caves nearby, and stroll through local villages before getting back on the road to head further north to the town of Luang Prabang, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With your guide, explore the town, take a boat ride on the Mekong River, stop to see the city’s key temples and the former Royal Palace, and just relax and admire one of the many jewels in Indochina’s crown.
