Upon arrival at the Delhi International Airport, you will be warmly greeted before your transportation to the hotel. Receive assistance with check-in and have remainder of the day at your leisure. Extra night(s) to adjust to time change are available, please enquire.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before your full day tour of the city. Start with a special tour of Old Delhi showing you behind the veil as you immerse yourself in this very colorful and bustling part of the city. With your guide you will cover more than 20 main sites of interest from palaces to mansions, elegant shrines to colorful bazaars. Travel by rickshaw and on foot as you experience the heart of the city. Admire Mughal architecture, ancient homes, and a way of life unlike anything you may be used to. Afterwards, head to New Delhi, an interesting contrast to the hustle of Old Delhi as you take in the wide boulevards, green parks, impressive government buildings and more. Take an orientation drive and then visit Qutub Minar, an impressive Islamic stone tower, and Humayun's Tomb, an outstanding mounument in the Indo-Persian style, a precursor of the Taj Mahal.
Take a morning flight to Varanasi, the holy city along the River ganges, and arguably one of the world's most memorable travel experiences. On your arrival, head to the hotel for check-in, and then take an afternoon walking tour among the narrow alleys, hidden shrines, and life along the riverside. In the evening, take a candle-lit boat ride on the Ganges as you watch devout Hindu's performing the Aarti Puja, a performance of chants, cymbals, and drums as the river is worshipped with flowers, sandalwood, incense, milk and vermillion. It is the Ganges that resonates with Varanasi's spirituality.
Early this morning, take a sunrise boat ride on the Ganges as you watch the riverside ghats and those making the faithful walk down the steps into the river to perform their religious ablutions. Disembark the boat and walk through the inextricabl maze of streets and alleyways as you admire the day to day life of those whom call Varanasi home. Return to the hotel and have breakfast followed by some time to relax at your leisure. Later, you will visit the holy city of Sarnath, the location where Buddha is said to have preached his first sermon. Around the site are a series of temples built by Buddhist grous from around the world. You will have the special opportunity to chant with the monks at one of the Buddhist temples.
This morning, you will fly to Delhi where you will be met and then immediatley driven to the city of Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. On arrival in Agra, head to Mehtab Bagh, a recently excavated Mughal garden where you will have a sunset view of the Taj Mahal across the River Yamuna. Check-in and have the evening at your leisure.
Early this morning, head to the Taj Mahal to see this extraordinary monument by the first light of day as the sun rises. Take a guided tour of the monument, and then have some leisure time to spend at this most awe-inspiring of sites, said to be one of the most elegant and harmonious buildings in the world. Return to the hotel for breakfsat and then depart for Jaipur. En route, visit Fatehpur Sikri, a deserted red sandstone city and an oustanding example of Mughal architecture, and then stop in the village of Abhaneri for a tour of the amazing stepwell and temple. Arrive in Jaipur and check-in for the evening at leisure.
This morning, start with an excursion to the Amber Fort, surrounded by fortified embattlements and overlooking Moat Lake. Once on top, stroll through the sprawling complex of courtyards and halls with your guide. Later, visit Jantar Mantar, an impressive observatory with fourteen geometric devices for measuring teime, predicting eclipses and tracking stars and planets, built in the 18th century. Head to the City Palace, within the area of the original city, with one of the finest monumental entrances in India. The palace is now principally a museum housing a collection of great treasures. This evening, take a walk in the old city and bazaar before your fun culinary lesson followed by dinner at a lovely venue.
Early this morning, you will be met at the hotel for transportation to the airport for your flight to Mumbai. On arrival in Mumbai, meet and transfer to the hotel for check-in. Today's tour of Mumbai includes a visit to the impressive Princes of Wales Museum near the Gateway of India, Mani Bhavan, a memorial dedicated to Mahatma Gandhi, and a drive along the seaside promenade, Marine Drive. See the Hanging Gardens on the slopes of the Malabar Hills, the Queen Victoria Terminus and the dhobi ghat, the famed outdoor laundromats.
Enjoy some time this morning at your leisure, or join an optional tour to see Mumbai in the early morning. This afternoon, take a tour of the Elephanta Caves, an hour away from Mumbai by boat. The Elephanta Caves are a network of sculpted Hindu and Buddhist caves that date to between the 5th and 8th centuries.
This morning, take a flight south to Cochin where you will be met for transportation to the village of Kumarakom, a paradise of lush backwaters, lagoons, palm-fringed lakes, paddy fields, and winding canals in Kerala's heartland of nature. On your arrival at the resort, have the rest of the day at your leisure to simply relax and/or enjoy the resort facilities.

This morning, board a Kettuvallam, a traditional houseboat for your day's leisurely cruise through the backwaters of Kerala, one of the highlights of your stay in India. Stay overnight on your well-appointed houseboat.
This morning, enjoy breakfast and then disembark the houseboat and drive to the city of Cochin where you will check-in to your hotel. This afternoon, begin exploring the city with a walk through the bustling harbour and quaint backstreets. Visit St. Francis Church, see the Jewish Synagogue, explore Mattancherry Palace, the previous home to the Verma Kings and now a fine museum. In the evening, visit a local theatre and experience the Kathakali dance performance.
