Upon arrival in Amman, you will be met by your representative in the arrivals area holding a name-board. After a brief introduction, you will be transferred to your hotel in Petra for check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then embark on a full day excursion of Petra, including the lesser visited ‘Little Petra’. Petra is a treasure of the ancient world, hidden behind an almost impenetrable barrier of rugged mountains, boasting incomparable scenes that make it the most majestic and imposing ancient site still-standing. The rock-carved rose-red city of Petra is full of mysterious charm. It is the legacy of the Nabataeans, an industrious Arab people who settled in southern Jordan more than 2000 years ago. Admired then for its refined culture, massive architecture and ingenious complex of dams and water channels, Petra is now a UNESCO world heritage site and one of The New 7 Wonders of the World that enchants visitors from all corners of the globe. After lunch, continue to Al-Beidha, also known as ‘Little Petra’, a short distance north of Petra on a road running between wild and beautiful outcrops of rock, the color of pale honey. Al-Beidha was one of the main commercial areas of Petra, the entry and exit point for the trade routes to the north and north-west. Return to the hotel for the evening at your leisure.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and then be met and then driven to your resort at the Dead Sea. En route, stop at the Karak Crusader Fortress. An ancient Crusader stronghold, Karak sits 900m above sea level and lies inside the walls of the old city, the city today continues to boast a number of restored 19th century Ottoman buildings and restaurants, but it is undoubtedly Karak Castle that dominates. On you arrival at your Dead Sea resort, check-in and have the rest of the day at your leisure.
After breakfast travel to Mount Nebo. It is believed that it was here where Moses died after wandering with his people through the desert for forty years. At the top of the mountain you will have a spectacular view of the Dead Sea. Later, drive to the town of Madaba to view the oldest known mosaic map of the Holy Land, dating back to the 6th century AD, at the Saint George’s Church. Continue onward to the modern and ancient capital of Jordan, Amman. The city is crowned by the Citadel, a hill with the ruins of the Temple of Hercules, and a museum with artifacts dating back to the earliest settlement in the region some 700,000 years ago. At the foot of the Citadel lies the 5,000 seat Roman Theatre. Later, check-in to your hotel and have the evening at your leisure.
Breakfast is included at the hotel and you will be met at the appointed time for transportation to the airport for your departure flight.
Day 2: Take a full day to explore the Nabatean Kingdom of Petra.
Day 3: Take some leisure time and float in the Dead Sea.
