Upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur, you will be met in the arrivals area by your local guide holding a name-board. After a warm welcome, take a private airport transfer to your hotel for assistance with check-in. The remainder of the day is free at your leisure.
Take the morning to explore the city on a guided tour. See the Petronas Towers, King’s Palace, the National Museum, and more. In the afternoon, head out of the city and through the countryside to the renowned Batu Caves, the location of a holy and sacred temple for Hindus. Return to the hotel for the evening free at your leisure.
Depart for the Cameron Highlands, located at 1542 meters above sea level and noted for its tea plantations and cool temperatures. Stop on the way for a visit to see the cottage industry of basket weaving followed by the Lata Iskandar Waterfall and a native settlement. Be immersed in the cool, crisp air of the Cameron Highlands with its wonderful scenery as you check-in to the hotel for the rest of the day free at your leisure.
Today’s tour will take you on visits to local fruit and vegetable farms, a Butterfly garden, a Buddhist Temple, and more. A short trek through the forest will end with your visit to the tea plantation – Boh Tea, Malaysia’s biggest tea grower (closed Mondays). Experience the factory tour and watch the processing of black tea, and sample the different kinds of tea before an optional high-tea at the Ye Old Smoke House at the Scottish Inn (own account). Afterwards, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel for the rest of the day at your leisure.
Begin your day with a pleasant drive northwards to Ipoh – ‘the city of millionaires’ which made its fortune from the rich tin mines of Kinta Valley – the heart of tin dredging in Malaysia. En route, you will visit Kellies Castle, built by the Scottish rubber tycoon, and the famous Cave Temples in Ipoh, followed by lunch at a local restaurant. Travel North to Kuala Kangsar and see the unique Ubudiah Mosque, a magnificent building with a golden dome, and the Palace of the Sultan of Perak. Continuing onward and you will cross the Penang Bridge into the island of Penang. Check into your hotel located in the city and have the evening at your leisure.
Enjoy a morning tour gaining insight into the rich heritage of Georgetown. Visit local temples, stop at the Peranakan Mansion, and admire the picturesque architecture of the local area. Have the afternoon at your leisure and then head out in the evening on a night tour taking in the local cuisine for dinner followed by a trishaw ride.
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and at the appointed time your guide will meet you in the hotel and then transfer you to the airport.
