Upon arrival in Bangkok, you will be met by your local guide and transferred to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at your leisure. Stay three nights in Bangkok.
Enjoy your breakfast at the hotel and then depart on a full day guided tour of the city sites. Highlights include the Reclining Buddha at Wat Po, bustling Chinatown and a local flower market, the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha, a boat ride on the river and through residential canals, a Thai lunch, and more. An optional evening activity is available.
Depart the city in the early morning as you head to the lively floating market. Outside of Bangkok, you’ll first stop at the railway market, located directly on the railway tracks, to see the peculiar scene of stallholders packing up their stalls as the train approaches only to reoccupy their stalls shortly after it passes. Continue onward and take a scenic ride on a narrow longtail-speedboat passing riverside villages to the vibrant and colorful floating market. Enjoy some time to wander about the market, take in the sights and aromas, interact with the vendors, and then head back to Bangkok for the afternoon at your leisure. Optional afternoon activities are available.
Depart Bangkok for Kanchanaburi with sightseeing en route. Stop at the Bridge over the River Kwai, visit the War Museum and Cemetery and then take a ride on the Death Railway train that passes through lush forest. A Thai lunch is included and a stop is made at the Hellfire Pass Memorial before arriving at the pier where you will take a longtail boat to your hotel. Enjoy dinner at the hotel followed by a cultural show.

Depart Kanchanaburi and head towards Ayutthaya, an ancient Siamese capital. Today Ayutthaya hosts some of Thailand’s most important historical landmarks and has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll visit some of the most interesting temples, including the Bang-Pa-In Summer Palace. Stay one night in Ayutthaya.
Checkout and drive to Sukhothai, en route stopping in Phitsanulok to visit the impressive Wat Phra Sri Mahathat, a temple built in the 13th century, which houses the sacred Buddha Chinnarat - said to be one of the most beautiful Buddha statues in Thailand. Continue onward to Sukhothai and visit the impressive Historical Park of another former capital of Siam, also recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Stay one night in Sukhothai.
Depart the hotel and visit the historical site of the ancient Sri Satchanalai City, second in size during Sukhothai’s reign, this historical park boasts impressive remnants of temples, palaces, and homes; many of which rival the scale of those at the site of Sukhothai. Both sites play a very important cultural and historical role in the development of today’s Thailand and are on the World Heritage List. Continue to Chiang Mai via Lampang, stopping to visit what is arguably the oldest teakwood temple in the country, and the nicest to be found in northern Thailand, Wat Phratat Lampang Luang. On arrival in Chiang Mai, you’ll check-in to your hotel for your three night stay.
Today’s guided tour takes you around Northern Thailand’s most visited city for an up-close and personal look at some of its most notable sites, as well as stops at its old city walls, gates and moat. Highlights include the mountaintop temple of Wat Doi Suthep with commanding views over the city, other key temples in the city, some time set aside to chat with monks for insights into their day-to-day,, and a discovery of Chiang Mai’s oldest public market, a bustling marketplace of which can be both disorienting and exciting! Return to the hotel afterwards and have the night to yourself.
