Upon arrival in Bangkok, you will be met by your local guide in the arrivals area holding a name-board. After a brief introduction, you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is at your leisure.
Experience a full day orientation tour of Bangkok including the flower market, bustling Thonburi Klongs (canals) in a long tail boat, a stop at the riverside Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun), and a guided tour of the Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) and Wat Pho followed by a short visit to Chinatown.
Breakfast is included at the hotel followed by a full day free at your leisure. Optional activities are available for pre-booking, please enquire.
Fly north to the city of Chiang Rai where you'll be met for transportation to the hotel and the day free at your leisure.
Visit Akha & Yao minority villages with your guide providing insight into local traditions and customs while taking a leisurely walk through the community before heading to Mae Sai, the northernmost trading border town between Thailand and Burma. Take a walk about, see the shops and stores and then head to the Golden Triangle area where you’ll enjoy a Thai lunch. See the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos meet, and then visit Chiang Saen located on the steep banks of the Mekong River. You'll explore the ruins of this once powerful city founded in the 10th century, and then return to your hotel for the evening free at your leisure.
Depart your hotel in the morning for your scenic drive approximately 3 hours to Chiang Mai. En route stop to see the famed White Temple.
Depart the hotel with your guide and start your tour with a visit to the most interesting temple of Wat Chiang Man. Afterwards, continue on to Wat Chedi Luang Temple, and stop by the old City Gates and Moat.
Proceed onward to visit the Warorot Market, the first and most notable market in the city, and then enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, drive up the serpentine road to the magnificently situated temple of Wat Doi Suthep. On your return to the city, visit the temple of Wat Pha Lat before continuing to the temple of Wat Suan Dok, located on the Chiang Mai campus of the Buddhist University. During your visit, you will have an opportunity to have an informal ‘monk chat’ to gain further insight not only into the role Buddhism plays in Thailand but on a more personal level.
Fly to Phuket and transfer to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
