Top Experiences in Colombia:

Coffee Region

Beautifully situated and aromatically rich, the Coffee Region boasts rolling hills, historic estates, small and charming pueblos, and an introduction to the process of the coffee bean. It’s no secret that Colombian coffee is among the elite, but the region in which it grows offers a welcoming experience amid a picture-perfect backdrop of verdant hills and fairy-tale-like landscapes. In some coffee regions, admire the towering wax palms, the national tree that can reach up to 70 meters in height!

Cartagena

Colombia’s colourful coastal gem, Cartagena’s cobbled streets and vibrant colonial-era neighbourhoods are among the most photogenic and embracing in all of South America. Immerse yourself in the charm on foot and then take some R & R among the idyll of nearby islands. Plazas, narrow streets and alleys, and a lust for life, take your time and absorb the allure of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located on the coast, Cartagena is also the gateway to white sand beaches, scuba adventures, and a collection of impressively unique accommodations.

Blissful Beaches

Underestimated in its allure for beach-goers, perhaps all for the better, Colombia offers up some of the region’s most idyllic of coastline. Stretching from the Pacific to the Caribbean, Colombia offers up mainland beaches along the popular circuit to sleepy thatch-roofed islands of white sand and clear blue sea. Divers thrive and snorkelers admire, the beaches of Colombia and nearby islands are impressive in aesthetic and sleepy in nature, take the time to tack on some R & R to your Colombian adventure.

Medellin

See the transformation from one of the most dangerous cities in the world to one of the most innovative. Infamous for a dark period in recent history, Medellin has emerged stronger than ever. Unique and forward-thinking Medellin  adds perspective to a trip through Colombia’s illustrious history, and is also the gateway to the lakeside appeal of picturesque Guatape town.

Bogota

This high-elevation capital city is hip, modern, historic, and rich in historic influence. This is Colombia’s heartland and does not disappoint. Lively plazas and colonial-era buildings, a vibrant nightlife, modern edifices and old churches, Bogota sits among the soaring Andean Mountains and is your gateway to Colombia.

BEST TIME TO VISIT:

Climate

The high season and generally best season in terms of weather is from December to February. Expect sun, warmth, and little rain except for the Amazon, but anticipate an increase in costs. Cartagena stays nice through April, but Bogota and Medellin often see rain in April and May. Cartagena typically sees rain start from May. June to August are high seasons and generally pleasant, depending on region. Due to diverse landscapes, weather is more regional than seasonal.  Generally speaking, March to May and October to November are rainy seasons. The low season is considered to be from late September through November where prices are lower but rains can be expected.
